From lush foliage to opulent marble, this year's interior trends have absolutely filled us with new season inspiration! We have teamed up with My Bespoke Room to discover their top tips for translating 2018's interior trends into your own home...
It all started with sheepskin and we’re constantly using tactile textures to add interest to our interiors; think textured weaves, raw edges, fluffy textures and tassels! Natural materials and items with real craftsmanship are also rising in popularity with rattan, wicker and woven materials being top of the list.
If you want to inject a little texture in your home, start by combining cushions in different textures, or simply adding a large woven rug to anchor your room and provide comfort underfoot. When choosing your rug, ideally all your furniture should fit on it, but at the very least try to ensure that the front legs of your sofas and armchairs sit comfortably on it .
Foliage is one of the best and more cost-efficient things you can add to finish a room and bring a touch of new season style to the space. Leafy greenery adds instant impact, combine with other hanging plants and tropical small pots for a truly botanical vibe. The best bit is that greenery looks gorgeous set against blush pink and sage green backdrops which are still firm favourites in SS18. Don’t fret if you are not very green-fingered, there are some great artificial options out there.
Grey has been the go to neutral for the last few years but 2018 is showing signs of people adopting bolder, richer colours on both walls and furniture. Moody colours are becoming more and more popular, with bright greens and dark blues being key colours. If you’re not ready to go bold with your walls or sofa, opt for a statement chair and complementary cushions.
We’re still in love with marble this season and really, what’s not to love? A gorgeous marble table top is the perfect way to fully embrace the trend while pieces such as pendant lights and accessories such as clocks and candlesticks mean everyone can add a touch of this Luxe look without completely overhauling your space.
Statement walls are a thing of the past, this year we are looking to the ceiling to create a standout feature. The key to pulling this off is to keep all your walls one uniform colour and then letting your creativity run wild: try wallpapering, painting or even tiling your ceiling for instant on trend impact!
