LUXE

Stylish and sophisticated, a Luxe design scheme is the epitome of elegance. Featuring lavish textures including jewel-toned velvet, marble finishes and brushed brass, creating the Luxe look has never been easier with our step by step guide and top tips from our interior experts.

The key to achieving the ultimate Luxe look is to combine luxurious materials and dramatic tones to create a modest yet glamorous aesthetic. And it’s all about the details, from piping, buttons, studs and trimmings, all of which form an understated sense of luxury. Creating a feeling of lavishness is crucial to the Luxe look, so consider this when selecting the textiles for your bedroom. From fine linen, silk, fur and cashmere in hues of silver, grey and amethyst, your Luxe bedroom will exude opulence, style and classiness.

Rich jewel colours combined with a mix of monochrome and neutral colourways makes the Luxe look truly timeless. “When choosing colours in your bedroom, pick colours which naturally give you a sense of calm and well-being,” explains our Creative Director, Wendy Clark. “Whether you opt for bright and cheerful or dark and sexy, always balance your look with something more subtle and relaxing to really nail the Luxe aesthetic.

CLASSIC

With comfort and character at the core of this interior look, Classic’s natural textures and rustic finishes combine with expert artisan craftsmanship to create a relaxed and stylish bedroom space. The Classic aesthetic is all about creating an effortlessly calm environment with style that stands the test of time. When searching for a colour palette, think tasteful taupe and warm terracotta, but also look to nature for some inspiration. The Classic look is all about combining an eclectic mix of furniture and textures, look to organic materials including reclaimed wood, tactile sisal rope and light linens that reinforce the idea of a rustic, comfy home.

Choose well-made, luxury pieces to set the mood in your Classic home and make your bedroom feel extra homely. Classic furniture and homewares are very versatile and can be effortlessly style, making this a great look for any season. Bring vibrancy to your bed linen with colourful cushions and wonderfully woven throws, then create a sense of style symmetry with a set of artisan ceramic table placed upon your Classic bedside tables. Eclectic accessories and trinkets from your travels across the world or uniquely personal pieces work also well in a Classic inspired space, creating an atmospheric space brimming with unique character and personality.

When it comes to art work and accessorising, Wendy’s essential style tip is to remember to edit: “Don’t get carried away with artwork, less is more where bedrooms are concerned, pick a piece which means something to you and also makes a statement.”

MODERN

Create a wonderfully Scandi inspired sanctuary with Mid Century designs and contemporary Nordic influences to achieve the ultimate Modern look this season. Begin with a monochromatic colour palette, followed by bursts of soft pastels such as mint greens, soft lavender and duck egg blue. The gentle colours you choose to accent your Modern bedroom should be personal and reflect your character.

A Scandinavian influenced bedroom would be nothing without the functionality of the furniture you select. Forever stylish and practical, select archetypal Danish designs with smooth engineered finishes and textures such as glass, metal, and pale oak timber. Adding softer furnishings with striking geometric and graphic prints will add to the overall look of your Modern bedroom and gives it a playfulness against the neutral, soft colour palette.

When it comes to lighting, use a statement designer lamp to illuminate your Modern bedroom space. A sculptural design with a sleek silhouette can bring a refreshing sense of Scandinavian serenity to your bedroom space, perfect for relaxing in true Nordic style.

If you’re looking to create a calming glow, Wendy reminds us that layering is key to Urban bedroom interiors. “Always use layers of lighting in a bedroom, there is nothing worse than only having overhead lighting. Use table lamps and floor lighting to complement this and allow you to create a much more relaxing ambient space, everything should be about comfort as well as style in this room.”
